Making a Difference Together: Supporting Local Charity Renew
At The Connection Club, connection doesn’t stop at conversation, it extends into the wider community around us. And this week, one of our wonderful members reminds us just how powerful those small acts of kindness can be.
After a recent catch-up at a local coffee spot, Louise Harrison felt inspired to support a local charity called ReNew, which works closely with people experiencing homelessness and those affected by drug and alcohol addiction.
Louise donated a bag of toiletries - including both new and part-used items - along with sanitary products, warm clothing, and coats. When she dropped them off, the response was immediate and heartfelt. The team at Renew shared that everything would be distributed that very same day to people who truly needed it.
“It felt really good to give directly to a local charity helping local people in dire situations.”
It’s a simple but powerful reminder that even the items we no longer need can make a real difference in someone else’s life.
How You Can Get Involved
Louise has kindly offered to collect donations from fellow Connection Club members at our next event.
If you have any of the following items you’d like to pass on, they would be hugely appreciated:
Unused or part-used toiletries
Sanitary products
Warm clothing and coats
You can simply bring them along to the next Connection Club event, and Louise will ensure they are delivered to Renew.
Connection That Goes Beyond Us
The Connection Club is built on supporting one another but it’s also about the ripple effect that creates. When we feel connected, supported, and inspired, that energy naturally flows outward into the communities we’re part of.
This is such a beautiful example of how our community isn’t just making a difference to local women, but to the wider community too.
Thank you, Louise, for leading the way with such kindness and generosity.
